You were chosen to recruit and lead an army into battle against various local war lords and their armies. Battle for Aesir is a Turn Based Strategy game, with RPG elements. The combat system is affected by the terrain where the battle is taking place, the unit's traits, stats and artifacts. A river tile will make a water wizard a god while reducing a fire wizard to a mere peasant.
